Data Protection Notice for Customers (PDPA)

This Data Protection Notice (“Notice”) explains how True Refine Interior PTE. LTD. (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). This Notice applies to all customers whose personal data we handle in the course of providing our interior design, renovation, and furniture services.
1. Definition of Personal Data
“Personal data” means data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified from that data, or from that data and other information that we have or are likely to have access to. Examples include your name, contact number, address, email, and any other personal details provided to us in connection with our services.
2. Collection of Personal Data
We generally collect personal data directly from you or from third parties authorised by you. Examples include when you submit an enquiry, request a quotation, sign a contract, or communicate with our staff. We may also collect personal data from publicly available sources or other lawful means.
3. Use of Personal Data
We may collect, use, and disclose your personal data for purposes such as:
- Fulfilling our obligations to provide design, renovation, and related services.
- Processing quotations, payments, and service requests.
- Verifying your identity and contact details.
- Communicating updates, changes, or information related to your project.
- Managing our business operations, quality assurance, and customer service.
- Complying with applicable laws and regulations, or assisting in investigations by authorities.
- Any other purposes for which you have provided consent or that are reasonably related to the above.
4. Disclosure of Personal Data
We may disclose your personal data to third parties where necessary to perform our services. This may include subcontractors, suppliers, delivery companies, payment processors, or other partners engaged to support our business. We may also share information with government or regulatory authorities when required by law.
All third parties handling your personal data on our behalf are contractually bound to protect it in accordance with PDPA standards.
5. Withdrawing Consent
You may withdraw consent for our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal data by submitting a written request to our Data Protection Officer (DPO). Upon receiving your request, we will inform you of the consequences and process it within a reasonable timeframe. Please note that withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to continue providing services to you.
6. Access and Correction
You may request access to or correction of your personal data in our possession by contacting our DPO. A reasonable administrative fee may apply for processing access requests. We will respond to such requests as soon as reasonably possible.
7. Protection of Personal Data
We implement reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, modification, or disposal. These include password-protected systems, access control, encryption, regular software updates, and secure data disposal practices.
While no security measure can guarantee absolute protection, we strive to maintain a high standard of data security and continuously review our safeguards.
8. Accuracy and Retention of Personal Data
We rely on the accuracy of personal data provided by you. Please inform us of any changes to your personal data to ensure our records remain current and accurate.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. When no longer needed, the data will be securely deleted or anonymised.
9. Transfer of Data Outside Singapore
We generally do not transfer personal data outside Singapore. If such a transfer becomes necessary, we will ensure that the receiving party provides a comparable level of data protection as required under the PDPA.
